Surprising as it is, hotels have entire storage rooms dedicated to archiving items forgotten by guests in their room. Careful as we are with packing, it is just too easy to forget items that aren’t easily visible. A few of the surprising ones we have seen left behind at this hotel include: phones, wedding rings, whole suitcases, and oddly enough this hotel once had an antique gas station service pump center. The good news is that we are so often able to reconnect an item with its owner. On the other hand, guests regularly decide that it is simply more cost effective to replace the item or discard it completely.
When a guest does not wish for their belongings to be shipped to them or it has gone unclaimed for an extended period of time, we have found ways to help our local community. By donating non-perishable goods that are in great condition, we have helped deliver thousands of warm clothes, blankets and bedding, reading glasses, and many other items to those who can put them to good use.
So, what items are most often forgotten in a guestroom? Be on the lookout for these top ten things forgotten by hotel guests during your next trip.

Another great suggestion I have acquired over my years in the industry: create a quick checklist of items you commonly bring with you during your travels. This makes packing easier before you leave home and helps account for all personal items when you pack up to head out. Hopefully nothing gets left behind during your next visit - but we will save it several months longer for you, just in case.
